Final Fantasy Dissidia Special Review

ffdissidiaSquare-Enix latest game Final Fantasy Dissidia is one of the best games on PSP in the year 2008.  Come check out this special review about this game only covered only at Steparu.com.  I have recently completed my first playthrough of the game still found myself playing the game every now and then.  This review may contain some spoilers read at your own discretion.

I'll be explaining the story mode system first!  Story Mode in this game is pretty easy and straight forward.  Even if you don't understand Japanese you can beat anyone of the ten starting characters they give you.  Each characters Story Mode has a difficulty level that is not based on any specific order.  It doesn't matter which characters Story Mode you complete first because in the end you will have to finish each and every one of them to proceed to the second half of the story mode.  There are a total of five maps in each of the characters Story Mode which can take about half an hour to an hour to complete.  During your adventures in story mode you will come across a lot of cutscenes that helps you put the pieces together. Since every each characters actions link each other in different points of perspective.  Only after playing each character story line you will understand the story mode in a deeper point of view.  At the end of each story mode you fight that specific characters evil nemesis.  Even if you aren't familiar with some of the characters in the Final Fantasy series as you progress further into their story line you will find each and one of them very like able.  The story and perfect voice acting is what makes this game more interesting some of you may even notice some of the famous voice actor/actress in this game.

Tina Story Ending

There are two ways to level up your character either grinding in story mode trying to get 100% completion in each characters story or free battle mode.  The easiest way to get a character to Lv. 100 in less than an hour is to just grind against a level 100 Ex-Death.  A lot of Final Fantasy Dissidia players prefers Ex-Death because he is very strong and his AI only spams one move.  His AI is also not very smart if you set his AI down compared to all the other cpus in the game.  In free battle mode you can spar with any character you wish from both Cosmos and Chaos side.  There are a total of twenty-two playable characters in free battle mode ten of which need to be purchased at the games special shop and two secret characters that can only be obtained by completing the game and their respective side story.

There are two kinds of shops in game the PP catalogue shop is for unlocking special goodies, characters, background music, special offers, more exp, icons, maps, and too many things to list all at once.  You can obtain PP by going through story mode dungeons or defeating a character in free battle mode.  The other shop is for buying all kinds of equipment for your characters.  You can unlock more items in the equipment shop by playing the games story mode, free battle mode, and through the PP catalogue shop.

Butz Vs Cloud

Upon completing the game once you can unlock Colosseum mode this mode inside here you can fight harder and more challenging opponents compared to those you find in story.  The Colsseum system is mainly used for obtaining special materials that you can use to craft items inside the normal ingame item store.  Colosseum Mode is split into three different level categories so if you have a low level character you can still take him/her for a test drive inside.  There are a couple more things unlocked after completing the game like the two secret characters and a super insane hard side story for the last boss.

Colosseum Mode

The amount of content Final Fantasy Dissidia will leave hardcore gamers playing it for months if they don't use any form of cheating of course.  Sadly there are no news of being able to play as the villains in Story Mode.  As far as to my knowledge you can NOT play as villians in Story Mode which will be a big let down for all those evil people like me.  I'd love to talk about the game more but you should go ahead and explore it yourself by indulging yourself in all of the raw video game footage I have recorded below.  Game score review at the bottom page.

Sooo without a doubt getting this game.

shantotto and gabranth look like alot of fun.

I'll probably just wait until they carry it over to english, but i'd like it if they had an option to turn the original japanese voices on instead of the english dub.

I was pretty sure I was going to get this when it came out in America, but just couldn't decide whether I should import it. Your videos helped me decide. I've had it for about a week now and have enjoyed it immensely! Thank you, Steparu!
