I've recently had a chance to try out BlueMoon Online and I must say the game looks really impressive in terms of graphics quality. Even with very nice looking graphics and smooth gameplay, I fear that this game may be doomed if it continues to be cash shop heavy. I was actually frustrated playing this game even when we were given a bunch of free cash points to use up during the closed beta phase. You're probably wondering why right? Then come find out after the cut, in my first look preview of BlueMoon Online!
BlueMoon Gameplay
It's probably hard to believe that this is a browser based online game but it really is! As you can see in the video above the game itself runs pretty smooth and has a pretty awesome default resolution of 1280x720. It has a bunch of playable classes and characters but I really didn't have the time to go over them, since I wanted to level up as fast as I can so that I can write about the game. Leveling in this game seemed a little bit grindy compared to most games or maybe it's because the weapons wasn't scaling properly with our levels, upgrading them didn't help much either.
I spent most of my beta in this town picking up quests, crafting, buying pots, and learning skills. It's most unfortunate that the party system in this game isn't available yet. I am assuming that there will be a party option in the future because there is an auction house system where players can trade items and such. You can't see other players in town, in fact you can't even see yourself.

Learning skills takes hours without cash items.
The only thing I strongly disliked about BlueMoon Online is the cash shop system. The game seems to be heavily dependant on cash items and such. For example, crafting and learning new skills takes up a lot of time in real life. If you're an impatient person like me, then you'll be forced to buy cash items to decrease the cool down timer or remove the timer. This item is also available via quest rewards but it usually isn't enough considering there are a ton of skills and armors you would want to craft. Meaning you have to buy this item everytime you want to make a new equipment or learn a new skills, what a hassle -_-. Upgrading stones are obtained from dungeons, quest rewards, and cash items. Every time you enter a dungeon, you use up a token which can also be bought in the cash shop. Just about everything can be bought in the cash shop, so I will stop going through them one by one.
A couple more hours has a passed and the servers were going down for the day. In the end, this game could have a lot of potential. I just hope that it doesn't continue in the direction it is going, especially if they don't make any changes to the cash system. This game has a lot of cool looking outfits, so I will probably end up spending all my cash items on those instead! The game itself is still in closed beta so I am sure there will be a lot of user feed back from the players who are hardcore'ing this game. Apparently the first place price for grinding like mad in this game is a free PSVITA, congratulations in advance to the winner!
