With some extra free time on my hands today I decided to jump in on the Open Beta test for Eternal Blade Online, previously known as iL Soul Bringer. The cutesy MMORPG has some cool new features like massive aoe'ing at newbie levels, a bunch of instances, and a handful of playable jobs. The game itself has a very shiny pastel colorful vibe that fits very well with the games setting. Check out the first look preview below to see if this is the right game for you.
Eternal Blade Character Creation
Character creation is very cute and simple, I was kind of sad that characters gender was bound to their class. Either way I have recorded the lengthy character creation process for those of you who might be interested in checking this game out. I had a bit of trouble decided what class to play but in the end I decided to go with the Berserker class because the description looked fun and easy.
Eternal Blade Newbie Gameplay
The graphics hasn't changed much so don't expect something amazing, in fact I think the graphics looked a little bit worst than before. The sudden change probably has something to do with the new gameplay mechanics and such. Unlike your average MMORPG, monsters in Eternal Blade comes in huge packs. Don't let their numbers fool you though, this game is all about AoE grinding and questing. It's kind of fun training 30-40 monsters at once and watching everything explode on the screen! Point & Click style gameplay where you want your character to move and such, you can alternately move around using the arrow keys. All of the lower level skills for the Berserker class are AoE based, so I didn't need to deal with single targeting monsters much.
Third Instance Dungeon
Most of the instances are easy until you get to the final boss, I kind of found the boss of lower level dungeons a bit challenging. I'm pretty sure I would been eating dirt on the floor if I didn't chug down tons of potions during that boss fight above. A progress bar shown on top of the bosses head everytime they are about to use a special skill or magic spell. This should give you a heads up on when to dodge their big attacks and such. The game had a lot of fun low level content and I enjoyed my lower level experience. As of the moment the game currently has an IP block to users outside of Korea, so you'll have to think twice if you want to try out this game early.
