Ecol Tactics Online has just gone into Open Beta test just yesterday and I've decided to check out how much of the game has changed give you guys a first look on the game. Being a huge fan of tactics types of games I just couldn't let this one pass up. Honestly, I thought this game was going to be small due to it's simple cute presentation but after checking out the world map and the advance jobs maybe I've been wronged. There are currently four playable starting classes which are Fighter, Cleric, Archer, and Wizard. At around level 31 you can advance to the second tier job.
Mainstory Manual Playing
Progressing through the mainstream story wasn't much of a problem for me when I was under level 10 but after that missions became a lot more challenging. Mainstream story quests were marked on the map so it was impossible to get lost. My mission objectives often changed from killing monsters, killing the leader, running to a certain waypoint, saving npcs, and all kinds of weird stuff. As I progressed deeper into the game I noticed that it was getting a lot harder to AUTO AI my way through the game. So around level 10 I decided it's about time I actually played the game or something haha!

Ecol Tactics mercenary system helped me greatly in leveling up and completing all my complicated quests. At around level 11, I was able to hire my third mercenary to accompany me on my journey. The mercenary board changes after a certain amount of hours has passed, so if you don't see a mercenary that fits your taste you can wait it out. Another alternative is to use the special paper given to you from quests or through the cash shop, by using this item you can refresh the mercenary page and hope you get a special mercenary like the one shown below. If your mercenary ends up getting under leveled or simply suck then you can fire them and hire a better one.

In the end the game is worth the try especially if you enjoy playing tactics games, even if you're a busy person you can always try AUTO'ing your way through the game. You probably don't need to know any Japanese to actually play this game, which should be very convenient for players who are looking to try a foreign game. For a web browser based online game registration is very simple, all you need to do is login using your google account and within a few simple clicks you're ready to play. I haven't tested it the game out yet on mobile or tablet devices but I assume it should work on them, do let me know though!

... Well tbh for me it looks like the Luminous Arc Series but i guess it's more of a genre kinda thing that makes those games looks so similar before you have a good look at the details. Would be nice if it came out in english since while it might be playable even without much japanesse knowledge i kinda dislike playing RPG's without understanding the story (anyone else feels the same way?). |
