Tera Online Glyph Instance

E-mail Print PDF

mainFor those of you who want to get ready for Tera Online, then I suggest that you don't pass up this informative article on the glyph system. I've also released a new video featuring one of the end game dungeons that was recently introduced a few months ago. The uncut video showcases the Training Center instance, where you will be farming your butt off for tokens. If you have been keeping up with Tera Online then this mini preview about the glyph system should be easy to understand. If you haven't, no worries I will try my best to explain it to you!

yeaThe easiest way to explain the glyph system is to think of them as enhancements for your skills. As you obtain higher levels in the game you can spend your gold to unlock better and stronger glyphs for your skills.

Lost already? When you level up in Tera Online you unlock new skills by purchasing them from your skill trainer. After you have finished purchasing your new skill. You can then check the next tab over to see if there are any Glyph Enhancements for that skill. Some of the stronger glyphs may not be available until you have obtained the right level for that glyph. Some of these glyphs are powerful, while some are complete trash.

You can only have a specific amount of glyphs activated at one time. Looking at my fourth skill on this page which is the evasion skill, I decided to specialize in two out of the four enhancements for it. Now look at the bottom right hand corner of a random glyph's icon. It will show you the amount of points it requires to have that skill activated at that time. Now looking at the far bottom right of this picture, you will see the total amount of points used. Since the current level cap is 58, you only get 48 points, you can not go over but you can go under. Meaning you can be 46/48, if you don't have any glyphs that costs two points to fully maximize your glyph points. You may find yourself respeccing and resetting your glyph page often depending on the type of character specialization you wish to achieve. For example, you wouldn't really use my setup shown on this page if you were to go out for some PvP action. You would need to reset your glyph page via NPC or Reset Stone and change into a more suitable PvP setup.

Training Center

The patch a few months ago introduced the dungeon shown above, it's a survival or time attack mode junk whatever. The training center looks easy, but it is one of those dungeons where you don't want to take someone who doesn't know what they are doing. First off, there are three bosses in this dungeon. All of the bosses in this dungeon must be killed within a two minute window. Whenever a boss pops up, the person soloing that boss must enter the boss room. As long as they are in the boss room, they will have a debuff that disables all of the their skills and normal attack. To get around this they must drink a special potion, once consumed skills can be used again. This potion only lasts for two minutes and has a twenty minute cool down, after your potion expires you can no longer use your skills in the boss room. The first two bosses must be solo'ed by a damage dealer. Meaning, if you haven't had much experience soloing big monsters in the field, then gtfo. The remaining members will take care of the last boss, since it has a ton of HP and hits like a truck. The object of this dungeon is to kill all three bosses without your crystal dying, sup Dungeon Defenders. Protecting the crystal from normal monsters is the easy part, it's the big bosses in the dungeon that needs to be done in with style. If someone fails to solo one of the bosses then you will earn less tokens at the end of the run.
