Logiware's latest side-scrolling action MMORPG Granage Online beta ended a few weeks ago. A lot of foreign gamers are probably wondering if this game is worth trying out or not. Honestly, I wasn't all that pleased with the first CBT for Granage Online, for a couple reasons. I felt like I was playing a game that I have played before, the graphics reminded me a lot of Mini Fighter Online. Despite the fact that the first CBT didn't go all that well for me, there were also couple good points in the game that I would like to point out. Check out a couple gameplay videos of Granage Online below, along with first impressions of this game.
Character Creation
There are currently four playable characters in Granage Online. All of the playable classes are gender locked so if you want to be a male mage, you can't. You will be forced to be a cute mage girl, like me! At least you don't have to worry about clones, since you're provided with a decent amount of character customization.
Newbie Gameplay
After you create your character, you will start the game off with a mini prologue tutorial like map. Your character will be max'ed out level wise, so that you can see what kind of skills your character will have in the near future. I didn't like this feature much, since it kind of spoiled me and wanted to stay high level the rest of the CBT. Unfortunately, after you finish the prologue you will be a level one newbie again
Running Around Newbie Area
Granage Online didn't have much customization when it came down to graphics, despite the flashy trailers and previews that you have seen until now. The first thing that I searched for upon logging on to Granage, which was looking to tweak the resolution or higher graphics settings. Granage Online is a pretty simple game and most of the dungeons in-game are instanced. You're provided with a decent amount of quests ingame to help you level up faster. One unique feature that I found interesting in Granage Online is the world map. Everytime you travel around places in the world map, you have a chance for an enemy counter. Just like your traditional console RPG's you will be ported to a map with lots of mobs that you must defeat. After eliminating all the monsters in the map, you will be ported back out to the world map. From here, you can continue on your journey to the next town or any other areas of the map.
