Eyasoft's latest futuristic non-targeting MMORPG titled Project E has a lot of sexy anime looking characters. The first thing that came on to my mind when I started playing this game was Gunslinger Girls meets Phantasy Star Universe. Alpha test is almost over, but don't fret I managed to record a couple game videos for you guys. Project E is still at a very early stage but it looks like it will be a pretty fun game in the near future. The game is heavily focused mostly on ranged weapons like, dual guns, shotgun rifles, grenade launchers, and etc.
There are three available classes that you can pick from during the alpha test. The first class was Strider, this class is the swift, assassin, ranger type of job. The second class is called Guardian, these guys are for the players who want to focus more on melee and tanking. Esper is the last class that you can pick, Espers are more of the mage type who can cast a lot of DoT spells and healing spells.
Strider Gameplay 01
Grinding in this game is a little bit icky but I won't complain much about it, after all it's only in it's alpha test phase. Questing and Crafting item system is the same from your average MMORPG, so you shouldn't have trouble with those if you decide to try this game out in the near future.
Strider Gameplay 02
The only unique thing that Project E has to offer, that I enjoyed during my alpha testing was the fact that I can shoot monsters from a mile away. You can snipe mobs from all the way across the screen with your rifle or launcher. Just like playing an FPS game, you have to aim with your cross-hair and shoot at the enemy. If you are using the launcher weapon you may have to fire at the path where your monster is walking towards to. Weapons aren't restricted to your job, so you can use two hand swords on your Esper class if you wanted.
Esper Gameplay
Not much skills were available during the alpha test so you won't see much fancy looking attacks or special moves. In conclusion Project E was worth trying out, I just wish the game played a little bit faster. Having played a lot of fast paced MORPG's Project E seemed to be lacking speed.
