Blade Chronicle Preview

E-mail Print PDF

bcmainSome of you may know that Blade Chronicle had a preview session yesterday and well here I am to write my whole experience in it!  Blade Chronicle plays different than your average MMO that you have played.  It's by far in my opinion of course one of the best Samurai themed games I have played next to Bushido Blade for PS1.

Where is my tea?

Bushido Blade!?  No you won't be one-three shotting other players in this game or monsters.  Unless, they change their whole system in which I doubt they will do since it may cause a lot of conflicts.  The graphics may not please some people but I found the graphics of this game just right to fit the style and mood of the game.

Hanging around.

During your first log-on you are prompted with a tutorial right after making your character.  You can skip this if you want or just go through it real quick.  I recommend going through it real quick since it is pretty easy.  Here is a video below of my experience with character making and tutorial - prologue.

Fancy game play right?  Yup!  Swinging the mouse in the direction you want to slash is very fun but can get tiring after awhile specially if you are trying to chain your slash commands.  If you ever get tired of swinging your mouse around you can use an alternate way of slashing your enemies by press I,J,K,L keys.  These keys are not recommended for PVP though unless you want to get owned.

Running around town and watching others fish!

I was a bit skeptical that all the monsters or PvE mobs in this game were animals.  This game may not be for you if you can not handle hurting animals like dogs, innocent cows, beautiful white horses, and maybe a poor innocent mouse.  No, I am not kidding there is reasoning to all this though.  One is because the game will be more based on PvP since later on you are forced to join a side which will give you a little color next to your name later.  Whether you will be blue or red you better watch your back from the opposing colors for they will always be open PK mode.  Oh I did come across a pokemon type kind of mob that had a huge shell on it's back so not all monsters in this game are realistic.

Unforgiveable dog! Should keep his nose out of certain areas!

PvP in this game is very fun but you have to be very careful when fighting someone one on one since another person can just join your fight and gank you.  I was trying to 1v1 someone and some guy from my nation came in and gank'ed him!  Letting them attack first was a good hint while fighting him and not locking on.

Slash Slash Slash and Pose~

There are over 50 quests you can do at the start of the game that may get a little boring personaly I just did a few quests then grinded a little bit and then back to questing shortly.  Blade Chronicles BB preview session has left me wanting to come back for CB and OB.  Although I am only looking forward to the PVP aspects of the game since the PvE side of the game did not look all that pleasing to my taste.

Rat and Crab Monster!?

Unfortunately, I did not get to record any PvP videos since everyone decided to have a giant party in town at the end of beta instead of mass killing each other.  In one point I had an urge to kill someone in the crowd from the other nation I doubt they will know who I am with all that lag eh-heh :3!  That's all for this Blade Chronicle preview look forward to my final review of the game whenever I get to play the game for more than just a day or two.

Hello! I'm am new to your site and so far I am digging it. Just wish I could have found it more sooner... I been trying to get back into JP MMOs kinda miss that atmosphere can't quite explain it but...anyway I just started playing Shin Sangoku Musou Online and Nobunaga Online which I both enjoy then I was doing some more searching and seen Blade Chronicles and didn't believe it was based off of Spike's "Samurai" title which i think is awsome! Seen your Youtube video on and came here and stuck asking you this. You have any idea when the full game will launch
and will it be free to play?
