Steparu's Best of 2009 MLORPG

E-mail Print PDF

mainSteparu's Best of 2009 week is here! There are a lot of games that came out in the year 2009 that I have tested Open and Closed Beta. This list will contain mostly foreign online games with a mix of some games that are also out in English. Think you have missed a game in the year 2009 that was worth trying out? Check out Steparu's top three Best of 2009 Online games that's a must try, when you get the chance. MLORPG also known as Multiplayer Life Online Role Play Game will be next on the list. A lot of foreign gamers and non foreign should know, there aren't much life games out there. So I had to pick out the my life time favorite ones!

1st Place - Mabinogi

Mabinogi Life Fantasy is probably one of the best life game you will ever come upon across during the past few years. It has great story line, constant updates, never ending grinding, cute outfits, and many more. Sadly to say, it's hard to beat Mabinogi, unless you actually choose to quit and give up on the game. This usually wouldn't be in the top three but since no other life game qualifies, Mabinogi will have to take up the gold prize. I would love to play Mabinogi again, but it's such a time sink for me.

2nd Place - Nexon Star

Nexon Star no doubt wins the silver price for Steparu's best of 2009 MLORPG. It's been awhile since a decent community type of game came out. Even though the characters look a bit kiddy, I found myself playing this game daily. There is a stamina system built in game, so that you don't get addicted and spend your whole new life in game. The best way to describe Nexon Star is Harvest Moon meets Animal Crossing. Anyway, you get your own island which is also called a Star. You fill up your star gauge by doing quests or interactions like, fishing, mining, harvesting, picking up rocks, digging, and etc. Once your star gauge is full, you deposit it in your star island so that it will level up. The more you level it up, the bigger space it will have. You farm for gold and buy houses trees props and all that kind of stuff you can think of on your island. Amazing game, a must try!

3rd Place - Husky Express

Who would've thought a Husky or dog sledding game would make it in the top three. I am not a dog fan myself, but I found Husky Express very addicting when I first tried it out. Foreign gamers would probably have a hard time with the quests, since there wasn't any auto walk feature implemented during the first season of the game. The second season just came out late last year so if you managed to cap out the first season then you can check it out. Your favorite original Mabinogi characters will also be available in Husky Express, like Mari and Ruari.

4th Place - Z9

A side-scrolling MLORPG with a bunch of things to do. You will find the usual mining and harvesting stuff just like any other life game here. The unique part of Z9 is it has a bunch of other stuff you can do like, fly space ships and shoot down players or big space ships. The graphics look a little similar to LaTale and Maple. An optional PvP system is also implemented where you can battle out against a group of other players. If you're looking for a cute 2D game to try out then Z9 is a must try for you.

5th Place - Poki Poki

Poki Poki is a cute Anime style cel-shaded online community game in Japan. There fun mini games you can try out with your friends in Poki Poki Online like a mini dancing game, racing game, cooking, and many more. Poki Poki is really easy to register since it doesn't require much security or personal information like most Korean games do. Since most foreign gamers out there usually come from the anime and otaku world like me, then you can try out your Poki Poki Online.

Ew, Mabinogi first..? I won't lie, it was a great game, but c'mon! D: It's run it's course.. It's just a bunch of grinding with a dull story line. And it takes a long time to get any good at that game. :/ No offense. Just stating my opinion.
